Welcome to Worship and Liturgy
Throughout the course, we will explore into topics such as the theology of worship, the role of music and arts in church worship, the structure and symbolism of liturgy in ministry, and the integration of technology in contemporary church worship. Emphasis will be placed on fostering a deep appreciation for the transformative power of worship and liturgy in individual and communal spiritual experiences with God.
Course Objectives:
- Explore the Theology of Worship in the Church: Participants will examine the theological foundations of worship within the Christian tradition, exploring concepts such as praise, prayer, and the role of the worshiping community in theological reflection and spiritual formation.
- Examine Historical and Contemporary Liturgical Practices in the Church: Participants will study the historical development of liturgical practices within Christian church.
- Understand the Role of Music and Arts in Church Worship: Participants will explore the role of music, hymns, choirs, visual arts, and other creative expressions in church worship. They will examine how these elements contribute to the worship experience and facilitate spiritual engagement within the congregational setting.
- Integrate Technology in Contemporary Church Worship: Participants will explore the use of technology in contemporary church worship settings, such as multimedia presentations, worship software, and live streaming. They will examine the benefits and challenges of incorporating technology while maintaining the integrity of worship and liturgical practices in the church context.
