Overview
This course is an in-depth study of the Person, work, and role of the Holy Spirit within the Trinity and His involvement in the life of believers and the church. It covers the theological foundations of the Holy Spirit’s nature, His activities in the Old and New Testaments, and His ongoing ministry in the world today. The course will explore key doctrinal issues such as the gifts of the Spirit, sanctification, guidance, and empowerment for ministry. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the practical implications of the Holy Spirit’s work in the believer’s life and how to cultivate a personal relationship with Him. This course offers students a theological and practical understanding of the Holy Spirit’s role, empowering them to grow in their personal spiritual lives and contribute effectively to the mission of the church.
LEARNING OUTCOME
The students who have succeeded in this course should be able to:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the theological identity of the Holy Spirit, recognizing His role as the third Person of the Trinity and His divine attributes.
- Articulate the work of the Holy Spirit throughout redemptive history, from creation to the church age, with a focus on key scriptural texts that reveal His ministry.
- Explain the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life, particularly in areas such as conversion, sanctification, spiritual growth, and empowerment for ministry.
- Identify and operate in the gifts of the Spirit, understanding their purpose within the body of Christ, while also cultivating the fruit of the Spirit as evidence of spiritual maturity.
- Develop a deep and personal relationship with the Holy Spirit, actively seeking His guidance, learning to hear His voice, and growing in sensitivity to His promptings and convictions.
